Green Pastures Square Meater Stud Farm

The Southern Highlands Home of Square Meater Cattle

Welcome to Green Pastures Farm

Here, in the sleeping beauty of the Southern Highlands of New South Wales, where our passion produces the most tender and flavoursome beef and lamb, it's a time of high excitement.

Our three Square Meater Stud Mums have now delivered our first calves - our first ever here - and they are absolutely adorable!

Since arriving here six months ago, the trio of Michaela, Shelly and Hazel have been taking their time in having a good time in the lush Spring grasses and through the refreshing Spring rains here at Green Pastures Farm. They showed no sign of urgency in reaching their 'drop' point, before Shelly suddenly produced our first born, followed by Hazel, and then ... finally ... Michaela.

As if bemused by the intense interest, the three Mums have been spending their days mainly laconically eating, and their nights mainly soundly sleeping in company with the three young steers that came to the farm with them from the Naringi Stud of Cate & Graham Stanton. The three new calves divide their time between playing, sleeping and visiting their individual milk bars!

You can follow the progress of all our animals through their blog posts below.

We'll soon be taking orders for our next meat deliveries.

Those who bought any of our meat packs last time around will be advised directly of what will be available and dates for pick-up or delivery.

New customers are welcome! Information on meat pack options will be forwarded on request to

As last time, all processing will be closely supervised in line with our view that animals we breed for food need to be treated with respect, and subject to minimal stress.

Certainly, the latest steers being grown for our family, friends and neighbours have been enjoying a relaxed lifestyle, with plenty of sunshine, feed and water aplenty.
